Wow, it has been one month since I posted a first look of the Vibram five fingers shoes. Since then, I used them extensively by keeping in mind this post so that I could provide a detailed review for those who want to know more.
Now, if you don’t already know, Vibram five fingers are a particular type of shoes where each toe is getting is own pocket. They might look funny to you at first, but don’t skip them without first hearing what I have to say.

The purpose of this shoes it to provide a valid barefoot alternative, in fact they provide a protective but not supportive think sole. It is fantastic to feel the difference while you walk in different types of ground. You can even feel different types of grass. These shoes are fantastic if you just want to go barefoot without loosing protection for your feet.
But that’s only an aesthetic point of view, let’s talk about health benefits. You were born supposed to walk barefoot, in fact each foot has more than 100 muscles and tendons to support your body. The problem is that by regularly using shoes, those muscles are underdeveloped, causing your legs and lower back to be weak, and also a bad posture by the way.
Vibram five fingers solves this problem. Each foot is now free to develop his muscles while you walk (or run, or climb, whatever) without risking injury every time you walk out of your house.
Now, to be honest, I only wear them when I do my daily workout and when I am at home, so I can’t give you a complete feedback, but I’m confident when I say that my posture is improved since I wear the five finger shoes and it all comes natural, so you don’t need to read books to get some benefits.
So far, they have been proved to be very resistant. I used them to do body building, running, sand, mountain and I also found myself on mud one time. Oh, and you can put them in the wash machine without any problem.
I finish this review by saying that I’m happy with my pair and I look forward to buy another pair when winter will come. If you are interested, you can find additional info in the official website.

Hi Oscar.
I came across these a few months ago and I instantly wanted a pair. They look so comfortable. I have heard that they may not be good for people with a low arching foot so I have held off buying a pair.
Looking forward to your next review about them. I’m interested in seeing if they will last after many workouts.

Maybe you should search for a local store where to try them. If you reply here with where you live, someone could help you. With my previous post we already found where to try them in Italy, Uk and South Africa.

I love the FiveFingers! I’ve been wearing them for a while now as i work for a UK stockist and got them when they first arrived… i used to get heel pain when wearing normal running shoes because they made me land on my heel first when running. Now, in my FiveFingers they encourage a more natural running motion in which i land on my forefoot or mid foot first and then roll back to my heel…. my heel pain has gone!

Hey Rebecca! I have also heard about people saying their 10 years lower back pain was gone after two weeks of five fingers. These shoes are definitely great!
