Today I bough for myself a new pair of vibram five fingers. These are a special kind of shoes that leave the sensation of walking barefoot. I choose the sprint model because they can be used in almost any situation from light trekking to running and walking.

I first saw them on Tim Ferris’s website. I usually don’t buy things from instinct, but these shoes were on my head for several weeks so I decided to give them a try. Well, it’s only 3 hours that I am using them, but I already don’t want to wear anything else.
Aside from the funny look, these shoes provide an exceptional training for your feet’s muscles, which are probably underdeveloped, and after a few days of adaption from your body, they will improve your posture and lower leg muscles. I will write a detailed review on a few weeks about the benefits of wearing them. Stay tuned.

Oscar, I’m jealous! I’ve been eyeing up these Vibram Five Fingers for a while now and just can’t bring myself to spend all that money on a pair in case they’re not any good. Maybe your indepth review will be able to persuade me otherwise…

Really looking forward to it! I read Tim Ferriss’s review of them the other day and he seems besotted with them, I think I just need one more good review and I’ll be sold…
By the way how easy did you find getting a pair? Here the UK I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pair in the shops which puts me off a bit what with all the hassle of having to send them back if they don’t fit if I buy them online…

I live in Italy and I’ve found them on a local sport store. I read almost everywhere that you can trust the sizing chart in their website. There are many online stores that sells vibram five fingers shoes in the UK, but check their returning conditions if you decide to go with them. You could also try to contact the vibram website and ask if they know where to find them in your area. Good luck.
That’s great advice – getting in touch with Vibram direct is probably going to be my best bet, getting quite excited about it all now and I still haven’t even bought them!!
I live in London and I’ve tried them in a sport’s shop in Whitechapel Rd, right in from of Aldgate tube station. By the way, the size suggested by Vibram’s website fits perfectly.
Pretty funky looking. I’ll be curious to hear how your legs feel after a few days, particularly your calves.

If you never walked barefoot, they may be uncomfortable at first, that’s an habit by the way ;)

Adam, they have been exceptional so far. I found them in a store called sportler, maybe you can find one in Perugia. Get ready to spend a bit of money though, I’ve spent 100 euros for the sprint model.

You’re going to love them. They make you realize how hard you strike your heal when wearing normal shoes.

I already find difficult to wear normal shoes ;)

Those are the funniest things I have ever scene for feet! I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing those in public! LOL. But, I truly hope you benefit from them and that your spine, body, and mind prosper. :)

You are not alone. I wear theme when I am at home and when I run/do exercises for now but I see a lot of people wearing them almost anywhere.
