Starting from today I will following the one hundred pushups challenge. For those who don’t know what it is, the one hundred pushups challenge is a six week program designed to help you do one hundred consecutive pushups starting from 0.
When you visit the website (which is free), you’ll be asked to take an initial test to see where you currently are, and based on that you’ll follow your particular program.
My goal is to complete the challenge and keep that habit, because I want to integrate on my training routine some good sessions of pushups. I’ll keep a log and I’ll post the results at the end of the challenge.
Many thank to @mattrox who suggested this challenge to me.

Hey Oscar.
I had run across the challenge before, but didn’t take part in it. I will give it a shot starting this week, thanks to this article. I am glad you brought this up and we can somewhat battle each other through pushups.
Good material healthy-minded guy.

Good luck brah :)
I have never tried for 100, I think it’s pretty insane.
I can do 50 at a time max, and can do 2 sets of that with a break inbetween so I’m happy with that :)
Let me know your progess man!
Cheers
Diggy

Hey Diggy, it’s insane because your body it’s not trained for that, for most people your 2 sets of 50 are already insane ;)

Hey Oscar. Good luck on your challenge. Looking forward for you to tell us what kind of 6-pack abs you’ll have in a couple of weeks. :)

Haha, maybe that’ll happen too :D Anyways I’m going to give weekly updates about this and other stuff.

My max is 40 for push ups. Sick. I wonder how long would it take for me to reach 100. That’s a lot of stamina we are talking about…

I guess you could do them by following the six weeks program. Maybe give it a try ;)

Hey Oscar,
Glad you decided to go for the challenge. I tried it during the summer this year but had to abandon it when I got sick with a flu virus (reached 60/100). I’ll take up the challenge again soon when work gets a bit less frantic.
Good luck with it buddy!

Thanks again to you for inviting me to try it. I have my second day tomorrow, and I’ll have to wake up at 6 just do pushups because I’ll be out on the evening. It will be fun :D

The feeling after commencing a few push ups is exhilarating. This is a wonderful challenge for anyone who does not have any physical activity. :-)

Hey Walter, I already do martial arts training, but 100 pushups in one set are still challenging to me.

I did a similar thing earlier this year when I started from 10 and then added one pushup every day. In my case it took me 90 days before I was doing 100 pushups, but it feels like a habit without much work since it’s such a natural step to just add one single pushup each day.

That’s another good method, looks like you were able to do them at the end!

I think I better try this too. Looks interesting to me

Congratulations for taking the challenge! Let me know how it goes for you.

I just push myself until i can’t push myself, then I push myself some more :)
Most of the time you can do 1-4 more but mentally you give up thinking that 20 is good enough or 30 is good enough.

Hey Mac, what you say it’s true. Sometimes I make the goal to do a certain number when in reality I could do more, it’s a limit in a sense.

Hey Oscar, best of luck but I already know you’ll succeed. The human body is meant to do amazing things no matter how much we poison it with processed foods. Keep us up-to-date!

Hey Michael, thanks for the encouragement, I really want to make this habit so I’ll make sure to follow every day of training.

I tried the challenge myself, quit after about 10 days :p
Looking forward to knowing how it works for you, though!

Hey Vlad, at least you tried ;) I hope I’ll be able to do finish it because I really want to.

Interesting challenge! It’s funny that I find this here, since I’ve scheduled a pull-ups challenge that I will chronicle on my blog. :)
Are you doing any other kind of exercise or will it just be the push-ups?
reply to this comment
Hi Shane, I also do sit ups and squats (with kettlebells). I also do cardio and martial arts. I wanted to do push ups because I’m not good at it and I want to become good instead.

Maybe you can do some sets every week with additional weight, i.e. 45# plate, weight vest or with bands. that will help you get to 100 quicker. Good luck with achieving this goal.

Oscar, for me i t also helps to keep my elbows and hand placement close to my body to protect my shoulders.

Thanks for the tip Mark. I usually try to differentiate the position, but I’ll focus more on the position you suggested because I sometimes feel a bit of pain in my shoulders.

I was told to “treat your shoulders like glass” and i took it good advice. I now train them from different planes of movement and they are stronger than ever, .

i am on week 3 for this challenge. it is tough. I think it will probably take me longer till I can get to the 100!

Hey Mark, I finished week 3 but then I did not start week 4 because I didn’t have enough time to rest between these pushups and my normal training. Still, I was able to do the 100 pushups so I achieved my goal. I think I’ll start with this challenge soon, it’s so beneficial!
