One of the goals I have for this year is to read 50 books, which means one book per week, and I thought that it would be nice to share with you what I have been reading so far.
The following is a list of all the books I read (cover to cover) in january and february.
Law of Attraction
This is a good book on the law of attraction and NLP and it’s full of exercises to unlock your inner power.
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
I read the italian version of the book, and I was delighted. Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance is an awesome book (which has very little to do with motorcycle maintenance). I highly recommend to read this book if you haven’t already.
Brain Rules
This is a book on the human brain. You can find a detailed review here: brain rules review
Eat That Frog
I had already read this book two years ago, but I thought about reading it again because it’s a tremendous motivational book. Short and sweet.
Mind Hacks
I bought this book in Seattle two years ago and read it for the second time this year. This book is full of explanations of how our brain and mind works, and many, many examples of all the theory behind. I recommend this book to all the curious people.
Born to Run
This is possible the most fascinating book I have read in a long time. It doesn’t matter if you are a runner or not, you should read this book as soon as possible.
The 4-Hour Workweek
This is the updated version of the original book. It’s a very good book on escaping the 9 to 5 life, and you should definitely apply the advices you find on this book (so maybe you’ll start working from home like I do).
Design Elements – A Graphic Style Manual
This is a book on the basis of design. I am a complete newbie on design, but I really enjoyed this book.
Tribes
This is a fantastic book by Seth Godin in which he talks about creating communities and how everyone is a leader. Should be required reading to everyone.
Conclusion
I had a lot of fun reading all of these books. Note that one book per week means less than one hour per day if you read slowly and take notes (like I do), so it’s not impossible at all.
I have also started reading some other books, mostly technical, but I will post their titles once I have finished reading them, as they take more time to completely read and understand.

Thanks for posting up what you are reading. I love checking out recommended reading pages on various blogs so that I can get a feel for what has inspired that particular blogger / author.
I have been reading about 10+ books per month the last 2 months, however I will probably slow that down this month and try to put more focus on applying the material that I learned and really studying the meaning of it all.

Hey Colby, 10+ books are a lot of reading, congrats! I really enjoy learning new things but I constantly remind myself that without taking action.. nothing happens ;)

Heya Oscar! I’m actually reading Tribes right now. :)
At page 108 where it says “The secret of leadership is simple: Do what you believe in.”
Next in my list is Seth’s other book “Small is the new big” (the one with the 3 baby dolls).

Hey Daniel, I think that book was really great and I’m glad I have read it. Right now I’m also going through all the archives of Kathy Sierra at http://headrush.typepad.com/creating_passionate_users . That’s really awesome stuff!

I’ve read the “Law of Attraction” by Losier and recommend it as well. Practical take on the LOA.

Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll be adding these to my wish list until I can pick them up. I can always use more to read! Good stuff.

Hey Christopher, in that list the ones I would begin with are tribes and born to run. Cheers

That’s a nice list, but I like to average one book a month. It’s important to not get lost in only reading books; what good is reading all that if you’re not going to apply it in the things you do? ;)

Hey moon, I know, but I’m a learning fanatic. Anyway I just allow myself to read 30 minutes per day now, and I spend about 3-4 hours on creating stuff, and then I have my day job ( and I still sleep 7-8 hours :p )

Great idea to start tracking your monthly readings! :D
I do have a lot of books at home, a lot of them are still in boxes! So I decided to stop buying new books and read through my pile (with the exception of social entrepreneurship books, which I can use as reference for my blog writing).
But I have also started to keep track of my readings since January. My goal is to read at least four books a month. So far so good. I’ve been able to keep up. :D
keep reading!

Hey Mighty! Yes I ran into that problem too, and I decided to stop buying books. The truth is that it’s easy to buy 10 books at a time, but then you need 3-4 months to read them all (even more if they are technical).

Hey man! I have both mind hacks and brain rules and have been meaning to get through them. I absolutely love reading about psychology and such.
Born to run sounds great man. I’ll be sure to pick it up.
Right now I’m reading “free” by Chris Anderson. I think you would like it.

Great list, thanks! I actually make a resolution this year to read one book a month…thought it was an overwhelming goal but after reading this post, 30 minutes a day will finish one book per week…I am revitalized and energized. This outlook seems simple and attainable. I wasn’t sure how much I would need to read to even complete one book per month, so this gives a very good idea. I’ll read some of these books..love self development books.

Hey Rupal, one book per month is a very good start. Just make a goal of reading a bit every day ;)
