Two years ago I wrote a post titled how to quit smoking, reporting how I quit smoking after 5 years within 24 hours Yes, that’s correct, one day I was smoking 15 cigarettes (or more) a day, and then next one 0.
Today I continue to receive encouraging comments on that post, and I’m very glad that many people have quit smoking as a result of reading that post, or by following the same system. Here are a couple of the latest comments:
hey ya Oscar :) been reading some of your posts, they’re a great read. I read Allen Carrs book a year ago…took me about 2 weeks to read it as there was some resistance in me (the smoker in me was quite the a**hole) but I got to the end and followed the steps. Actually it wasn’t even a case of “ok I guess I should do this” it was more after reading the book I was left with absoluuuutely no good reason to continue smoking…to the point that had a continued I would have diagnosed myself with a deep depression and possibly even put myself on suicidal watch!! bad joke but you get my point I’m sure. He really does take away all the illusions of what smoking is,he’s amazing!.
Anyways while I agree that for someone to stop smoking they really do truly have to want it for themselves I also believe that reading this book could bring the most devoted smoker to the point of turning their backs on their beloved nicotine…so my message to any smoker who’s read this blog would be,
READ THE BOOK doesn’t matter if you’re wanting to quit or not its just a book with one guys ideas, if it does nothing for you and you continue smoking SO BE IT! read it again at a later time if you want
BTW Allen does not ask that you stop smoking at the beginning of the book, its important that you continue smoking as usual while reading it…UH in my opinion that is fabulous!
And:
I was a 30 year smoker – 40-50 cigarettes a day. I quit after reading the book. No cravings. No withdrawal. Nothing. That was over 3 years ago. I couldn’t believe how easy it was – especially after trying so many times before and failing miserably with terrible withdrawal. The book works! Just do what Alan Carr tells you to do. Easy. Literally!
I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but it’s definitely worth a try. In the original post I recommend that you read a book. It’s an easy read, and it can change your life faster than anything else you may have experienced. Give it a try.
