I’m always thinking of ways to increase my productivity. My last experiment is to append a sheet in my office with the most important goals I want to achieve so that I’m always exposed to them.

What’s curious here is the fact that I let the sheet fluctuate in the air by using a thread. Why do I want this? For the simple reason that it is almost impossible for me to walk around the room without noticing my goals. I had already tried different solutions like attaching a sheet with my goals in the door or in other places, but my mind would quickly skip over them after two days.

I also want to emphasize important words to let them stand out. Red is a color which naturally catch the attention of the eyes so it’s even more easier for me to get attracted.
It’s also possible to remove or change the sheet without effort by using a binder clip, in fact I often switch it to a used paper in order to train the speed and form of my punches (martial arts stuff).
I encourage you to try out this system if you’re having difficulty being on track of your goals. Let me know if you have any suggestion or if you are using other similar systems.

This is a good idea. Actually, I have been putting it off lately, but I managed to applly it this evening. I attached two papers to the wall in front of my desk so I can see them everyday. One paper has my goals for this year, and the other one has a weekly to do list that I must complete the same task everyday like:
Learn 10 Italian verbs in the past, present, and future tenses + review today’s school lessons.
Go to bed before 11PM and wake up at 6AM …etc
I hope it helps keep us focused.

Hey Adam,
good luck with italian verbs! I am italian and i know they are difficult. Nice idea to have a long term vs short term goals in front of you, it may help assure you are always on track, even with little things (weekly goals).

I could probably use something like that. I always start a “new and improved” method of remembering goals, but then forget to even check them. Having it right in the way like this would make sure that didn’t happen. Of course, my wife might kill me if I hang stuff in the room, but maybe not.

Evan, you could write one that says: “I travel with my wife to …”, or something like that. The trick anyway is to come up with something creative, let me know how it goes.

Hey Oscar!
Simple yet effective.
Another good way is to write down your goals and turn it into your desktop background and screensaver. For me this works cus I spend a lot of time on my pc.
Stick a list on your mirror, that way you’ll see it before you go to bed while you brush your teeth.
I agree that when keeping focused on your goals by having them stare you in the face that is is easier to get your goals done.
Great post:)
